Alaska-3

These pictures are out of order but they're all taken the same day. I love this picture. It's Amanda and I and the dogs, Brutus, Django at our feet and Guiness on my lap. This is the marina on the spit. This is my son-in-law, Gregg and I as we were getting ready to take off and fly around the Kenai Peninsula. Did I mention that Gregg loves to fly? Later we landed at Homer, Alaska and went to Homer Spit. It's a piece of land that juts out into the sea and has a road running the length of it for almost 5 miles. It was a blast. Funky little shops, eating places (one of them is a eating place called The Spit Sisters), and a great beach where we played with the dogs and hunted for rocks. It was the 4th of July and it was very busy but it was still great.
The beach at Homer Spit. The little dog is Guiness. Here we're skirting Tustumena Lake and we're flying along and over the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge.
Everywhere you looked beautiful mountains and glaciers.

Be sure and enlarge this, it doesn't look like much but enlarged you can see the different water mixing together and I think it's incredible.
My first view of Homer Spit.

I don't remember the name of this glacier but it's one of many we saw that day.
Hope you've had a good day. Diane

I am so happy that you are sharing these with us, Diane. I LOVE them. Do you know how fortunate you are to get to fly around in an airplane seeing Alaska??? That is incredible.

Love the Homer Spit area... What a funny name!!!! Did you eat at the Spit Sisters????? Cute!!!!

Your daughter and son-in-law are both such great-looking people. I can tell how much they (and their dogs) love it in Alaska. I'm jealous!!!!

Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy
