An Old Reminder

It happens all the time. Something happens and I'm reminded once again to hug my loved ones, to really appreciate my husband, to hug my friends and greet acquaintances warmly and say goodby warmly, with feeling.
The night before last tragedy struck a couple who were very well known in our community of 25,000. Three teenagers broke into their home seeking money and shot Bob - 3 times. I don't know where his wife, Linda was in the house, it was in the middle of the night, but apparently her screaming scared them away. He was 79, they got $27.00 from her purse - $27.00! These were people who gave back to our town, they had a business for many years and Linda was busy at the church a lot (Episcopal). They were both nice people. Linda's life will never be the same. Bob is dead.
The entire police force was working on the case and the Wyoming crime lab and it didn't take long. It helps some to know they're caught but we're all still on pins and needles.
My point - you just never know. I plan to from now on let everyone know how much they mean to me, while they're still earth - starting with you. I really love you, my blogging friends. You're here every day when I turn my computer on. We laugh with each other, cry with each other, encourage each other and grow better with each other. Consider that a really warm hug. Diane

Diane I am so sorry to hear about this tragedy. It seems that crime doesn't just happen in the big cities anymore and is hitting all the small family communities as well.
You are so right that we never know what will happen...I have learned this with having cancer. I do tell everyone that is important in my life how much I love them and Jean never leaves for work without a kiss goodbye at the door, lol.
I love you to Diane...you have been here for me through everything. You are one special lady:)
Hugs
Jill.

Oh how terrible, Diane. Three teens, huh???? They killed the man--and only got $27???? Unbelievable!

I feel so sorry for his wife--who now has to live with this tragedy the rest of her life. Oh--this is just horrible.

I will pray for that family.
Hugs,
Betsy
P.S. We're off to Hendersonville today to check on G's parents. Have a good day.

Diane, that is so sad, you are right. God gives us so many friends because we need to plant seeds and spread the word, all the beautiful flowers need to grow strong and choke out the weeds.....
Life is precious, and I am always thankful to Him that I have so many kind and caring good friends....... thank you for being one of those!!!!
Have a blessed weekend sweetie!!!!
Hugs,
Margaret B

Oh, how horrible Diane... I can't even imagine what state of mind someone would have to be in to kill someone for money or goods. My heart and prayers go out to Linda and her family, and some very warm hugs to you my friend.
