Veronica's

A lovely place Amanda took me while we were in Kenai, Alaska was Veronica's, a fun little coffee house where we had lunch. A sweet touch was the sand dollar in my cappucino. Here I am trying to hide behind a post. This area is called Old Town Kenai. Right across the road is the Holy Assumption of the Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church. It was built in 1894 and is still used today It is one of the oldest Russian Orthodox churches in the state. Several old buildings surrounded Veronica's including a couple other of the same architecture.

As we sat in Veronica's we were on the bluffs overlooking Cook Inlet off the Gulf of Alaska.
Beluga whales are often seen here.
When I went to Alaska I didn't realize that I would see so much water and that it's maritime as well as hunting and fishing. Being the water and sea lover that I am I enjoyed it immensely.
