Remnants of a Mystery

Well, I'm just mystified. This is a vacant field across the creek from where I walk Rascal every day. I always look over that way because I sometimes see deer. I know what it looks like, I look at it everyday. It was probably on the third of May I looked over that way and I saw this pole that isn't usually there and ribbons were fluttering in the stiff breeze. Someone had a maypole dance there, but who? If you notice the grass is in circles around it. I drove over around that area and sure enough, there are circles around it. I know it sounds funny to you but I missed something big - right under my nose! Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Don't you just hate being the last one to the party? :(

Probably for mayday or someone's communion maybe.... a birthday... who knows. But pretty colors to look at none the less.

I haven't seen a May pole in years, it would have been fun to see the dance!

I guess someone wanted to bring back the tradition of the Maypole. I sure hope they enjoyed dancing around it.
Have a great day Diane.

We don't hear much about May Day anymore, but I was so hoping our new grandson would be born on May Day....he was 6 days late for that. I would have loved to seen the people at this pole on May Day.

Oh I love May Day.. I think of it as celebrating Spring..

But I know it's a pagan holiday to celebrate fertility...
