Dandelions

It's the time of year again when some of us go one way and some the other. I'm talking about dandelion season. We even have a split in our own household on this subject. My husband would just love to get out the poison and kill the little buggers but thankfully he listens to me. Without the dandelions we wouldn't have the honeybees early in the spring. I feel so sorry for the bees, I think they need all the help they can get. How can you resist a handful of dandelions brought to you in love in a grubby little fist. What can be more cheerful than the bright yellow color and buttery smell, and lest I make more enemies, what can be more enchanting to a child than the poof of the head when it's blown away. However you feel about dandelions I hope you can enjoy them just a little this year. God bless you, Diane

Yes Diane , there is nothing better than a little one picking a bunch of dandelions and giving them to Mom. Hey, I still show the kids how to blow the dandelion heads.
The bees probably do need them as well because I heard the numbers are decreasing.
Have a great weekend Diane.
Hugs
Jill.

As a child, I loved them Diane... I used to love to blow them when they turned white/gray....

NOW---I despise them. We do everything we can to get rid of them. The honeybees have lots of other flowers to feast on in our yard!!!!! ha ha

Sorry---I'm on the 'other' side on this one!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

Yes,those first few Dandelions are lovely. On our yard we choose not to use chemicals if at all posible,so we have our share of these lovely yellow flowers. The bees and birds need some 'pretties' too.
Blessings,Ruth

They do look so pretty, and such fun to blow away!
It's a hard decision to make! I am glad we still have lots of open country left for them, it would be a shame to have no honey!!! Have a great weekend!

I'm with you Diane! I love everything about them! You look at them close and they are so cheery, and yellow! My favorite color! Originally, they were a flower, brought here from where I can't remember, but now they're thought of as weeds, without them, I would have no lawn! :)
