How Do You Feel?

Since I was a little girl people, beginning with my dad, have tried to discourage me about my love of beauty and order. Unfortunately when I'm in a corner about my decision to put something in a certain way I will say, "It looks better that way." or "It doesn't look good that way." Then I'm chastised, "why does it matter what it looks like? It's just us. Who are you trying to impress anyway?" Lately it's become a real sore spot. After all these years I'm getting tired of it. I shouldn't have to defend myself about the way I see life. "It matters to me because that's the way I am. I like beautiful things- so live with it!!!"
So I'm wondering, what do you think?
God bless you, Diane

Reminds me of the old saying... Feelings are neither right nor wrong, they just ARE. I think it's such a wonderful thing that you strive to want to see things be beautiful Diane. Never lose that part of yourself.

I think I understand that you like things to look right. In part I agree with you,but recently I have come to realize that for me this is not that important anymore.Don't get me wrong,I still like things to look pretty, but find I have less interest in getting it that way.
Have a great day.
Blessings,Ruth

I think you are so right, lead with your heart. Do what you love and put things as you see them. I love the way you do things!!! why can't we have beautiful things? They you happy!! Besides they are just things, it's not like you can't live without them, but at least you have them to look at now!!!
Life is too short, love what you want and be happy!!!

Diane...just stay the way you are and enjoy the beautiful things in life. I think those that criticize are not very happy within themselves.
Enjoy all the beautiful things today that surround you Diane.

You have an eye for beauty Diane, and that's something others can't take from you. That is your stamp on your home. Keep up with what you are doing, it's right for you, that's what matters! It's not that you are trying to impress anyone, it's that you are making your own spirit happy. Go for it!!

Life is to short to live for somebody else. We need to enjoy things the way we want them in our own homes.
