Dilemma

What do you do when you find an egg in your yard underneath your tree? It was complete and had some tiny peck marks in it. When I picked it up it was top heavy. It rolled to one spot. What to do, what to do. I know the tiny little bird inside will probably not make it, I know I can't be a mother bird and I know there's no way I could reach the nest. Finally I decided - return it to nature where it came from. So I placed it up on one of the boughs of the spruce. I know it won't live but I don't know what else to do.
God bless you, Diane

Oh how sad, Diane. Have you got a ladder of some kind that you or hubby or a neighbor can put it back in the nest? Or is the nest just too high???

I guess you did all you can do... I know it's upsetting. It would be to me too. Maybe someone else has a better idea.

Happy Easter.
Hugs,
Betsy

Oh ....... so sweet.... No idea what to do that that egg...... I hate finding things like that and I would have done the same thing. You have a tender heart girl friend......

There may be a reason it was under the tree? Who knows. But, you did the right thing Diane. It's still always sad to see one that won't hatch into a baby bird.

Hi Diane!

Great blog and wonderful posts. I will be back to visit soon. I had the pleasure of fly fishing in your great state a few years ago - wonderful place and I hope to be a transplant there within the next few years,

Jane
