Update - Redoubt

My mother always loves a crisis so she can go into attack mode. Even now, in the nursing home, she's lucky enough to have a corner room with corner windows which gives her good view of the mountains and any approaching storm. When she was at home she would stock up and make sure that all her chicks were not on the highway or that they didn't have food and warmth. My sister reminded me that whenever we had a chinook when we were children, Mother would clean out the clothes hamper and wash everything in it and everything in the house and get it on the line while there was still a warm wind. Living near the mountains, we experienced this phenomenon often. I think Mother lived for the drama of a storm or chinook.

I guess I must have inherited that from Mother. When I talked to Amanda this morning everyone up there is pretty much taking the eruptions of Redoubt in stride. That's the way they cope up there in the north country. So I guess I don't need to stress about it. Not while everyone up there is out taking pictures.

Speaking of coping, aren't you just so proud of the people up in North Dakota who are so bravely coping with the incredible flooding? Talk about can do spirit!

Hope all is well with you, God bless you, Diane

Yes, and I was so happy to see on the news last night that so far, all that hard work and tenacity has paid off. I do hope the levies they've constructed hold. I also hope that Redoubt just goes back into a deep slumber. :c)

Hi Diane,
First, thank you for all your kind comments you leave me... not one goes unnoticed nor unappreciated! Your photos are just gorgeous... I'd give anything, literally, to live in the mountains or next to water! Hope all is well with you and yours, and I'm afraid I might be like your mom... I LOVE storms... the more dramatic, the better! (I know, I know... I need to get checked out!).
xoxo, K.
