Miss America

Today I got a haircut and think it looks O.K. so I asked my husband to take some pictures of me for my icons. He willingly agreed and I set the lighting (or so I thought) and he took one round. Too dark. So I asked him to take some more. He willingly agreed again. A hair sticking sideways. Another time I asked and he laughingly agreed. They turned out O.K. but there was a strange mark on the wall that I'm sure wasn't there before.
It made me think of my mother who some time ago had some pictures taken of herself. On the phone she told me that she'd got them in the mail. I asked her how they turned out. "Well," she said, long pause, very long pause "you always think you're going to look like Miss America!"
Well, here's a picture of me and Miss America the last time I went to see her.
God bless you, Diane

Whew, I know how Miss America feels. I try not to even look in the mirror. It isn't me looking back at me anymore. Somehow my mother is in my mirror. The only problem with that is she is 82.

Diane, I laughed so hard, I'm sitting here, crying! That is the sweetest story, ever! What a lovely sense of humor your mom has.
I agree, everytime someone snaps a photo of me, I have "hope" until I see it, then I run!! You and your mom are adorable!
