Some Inspiration

Today a copy of Journaling from www.stampingtons.com came in the mail. Really exciting. Sometimes I just sit there and look at a blank piece of paper, then I punch 3 holes in it for the notebook, then I stare at it some more. No more. From now on I have lots of inspiration, there's everything from far out from way too cutsey for me but I'll always have ideas.
I have been keeping a journal for a long time and I know there are many others of you who do. I've never done art journaling up until a few years ago. I found out that I could work our some bad things as well as good things. It's great to see how the art has changed, from just putting pictures in to being creative. Some days it just explodes all over the page, and others well like I say, I just sit there and try to put something down. I talked to one lady recently who told me that she has kept journals for a long time, through some really bad times for her, she doesn't do art, just might sketch a little picture in the border. She laughingly says that she's going to burn them before she dies. I wish we could live our lives so that we don't put down any of the bad feelings but I don't think I can. I'm hoping that I live my life so that my girls can appreciate my journals when I'm gone.
Boy, did I get off the subject of being happy to get a new magazine!!
God bless you, Diane

Getting our frustrations out are good for us and that is where jounaling comes in.Taking a pen to paper can be less hurtful than saying things to someone that you may resent later.
Okay now get back to being happy Diane.
Have a great weekend and stay warm.
Hugs
Jill.

I have never heard of art journaling, Diane, or heard of the magazine. What is it?

I'm not a journaler either, but admire people who can keep up with one. I've always thought it's such a lovely way to leave a legacy to those you loved so they can have something of you to hold on to forever.

Good Morning Diane... I've loved to write for many years. I started journaling many years ago--and it's so much fun to go back and read those old journals. It's interesting to note how life has changed through the years--and how we can get through the bad times as well as the good ones.

I also started writing Christmas letters in 1995 --and have done them ever since that time. They are a short synopsis of the year. I wish I had done that before '95...

Writing is fun ---that's why I love blogging so much. I hope that in years to come, someone in my family will enjoy reading all of my STUFF.
Hugs,
Betsy

Diane, I love to journal, but I'm horrible at words, punctuation, etc. I've try to keep a new one each year..it really helps to get out the hurts and the laughs onto paper. I've never really tried art/scrapbook journals until this year. Your dd will love having your journals, I'm sure of it. Have you ever done a journal jar? Thanks for the update on the mag, too. I'll keep my eye out for it.
