Little Treasures

I'm sure you're like me. I have boxes of ornaments - and I keep adding to them, way more than a tree could ever hold. There are different categories of ornaments, antique, children memories, ones that don't fit a category but they mean something -
like this one-eyed lady. She was found, along with some other Christmas things, in our basement when we moved into this house. She keeps a one-eyed watch over our Christmas activities. The Chezecholoslavakian ornaments with her I've picked up at yard sales or Salvation Army. They remind me of some that my Grandmother had on their tree. I missed out on them but now I have my own Grandma ornaments. The little pinecone guys are so charming, they get to stay out all year long. I just love them, sometimes they're in the kitchen, sometimes somewhere else but they welcome wherever they are. Last week I found this little house for them.
When Leonard and I first got together Amanda and I were decorating our Christmas tree. Each ornament had to be discussed and remembered and finally his patience wore thin. He kept saying "Well, that's enough now." But we had to hang every one of them and talk about it's story. I still love my ornaments. Hope you have as much fun with yours.
I must mention the wonderful news that Deena (Can I be Pretty in Pink) received today. Our prayers have helped her to this great day.
God Bless you, Diane

I enjoyed seeing your ornaments or at least some of the many you must have.A lot about the Christmas season revolves around memories. That is part of what makes this time so special. We must never forget that the 'Reason for the season'is Jesus.
Blessings,Ruth

sounds like a wonderful tradition.

I didn't grow up with those kind of traditions and so never did that with my kids. Hmmm maybe it is not to late.

So nice to hear yours.

When I help Mom decorate the family tree as we've done since childhood, each decoration stirs special meanings and stories. Many have been passed down generations, and mean so much to us. They keep family tradition alive, as yours do. Enjoy them, we sure do!
And, praise God for Deena's fantastic news!
