Peace

Add Video
I was reminded again today just how precious peacefulness is. I met one of our neighbors on my walk with Rascal. He is an elderly gentleman and he had fallen last night and bruised his face and hurt his head. I asked him if I could help him, "No, honey, I just need to get in the house and rest." I knew he wouldn't accept my help and I knew that he knew I cared. As we walked on home an overwhelming feeling of joy and well being crept over me. I know this was God wrapping his arms around me. I know he will wrap his arms around my neighbor, too. I was so thankful that I wasn't hurting and that I still have a few years before I'll be in his age bracket. I guess that might sound funny or better-than-you but it wasn't that. It was just a reminder of what I have right now in my life and how very thankful I am.
This evening I called to check on him anyway. His wife answered. She has had some strokes and he's been taking care of her. Now she's taking care of him. She said, "We try to get by in the between spells". She said he has a bad stiff neck but he's going to be O.K. Bless their hearts. God bless yours, too Diane

Thanks for posting this tonight Diane, it also spoke to me as I have been contemplating my life and what will happen when I am elderly. Thank God he is there to help, the same as he is in the life of your neighbors. Bless them, and bless you.

Thanks Diane for that post. My hubby and I 'try' to help his elderly parents (both are legally blind--yet they are still in their own home)--from 2 1/2 hours away. It gets stressful because we do worry about them. BUT--they still want their independence and are NOT going to leave their home until they HAVE to.. Dad's 96 and mentally sharp as a tack. Mom is 88. Both are in good health except for their sight. I admire them--but still worry!!! I just need to remember that God is still in control. Thanks!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

How wonderful and caring you are Diane. I know the joy of being around the elderly as we have a lot where I live and a couple of them I would always visit and have a chat with. Right now the tables are turned and they call and check up on me now.Like you I say "Bless their hearts"!

Bless their hearts. We'll all be there one day. I hope I feel His arms around me often too.

Dear Diane,
I enjoyed reading this post. It is so true that there is no peace like no other, when we can feel that tangible presence of our Heavenly Father. His arms wrapped around us and his warmth and love...I wish that blessing for everyone. Take care and have a wonderful weekend Pinkie
