One For the Books

It's hard for me to get up and around at 6:30 or 7:00 in the morning anymore (too lazy!). So I miss out on most of the good garage sales, I have to take my pick- sit around and have coffee and wake up slowly or get the good stuff.
This morning I finally picked up the paper and checked the garage sales. By that time it was about 10:15. I decided to pick one out, go to it and then come back home.
When I got there there was tables EVERYWHERE and the place was crawling with people. I could see at a
glance that this was nice stuff.

I ended up getting this rosewood easel, the beautiful pink watered silk hat box decorated with roses, satin and tulle. I also got this kitty "flatty". It's about 3 feet tall and really pretty. It has the original tag on it for $95.00. I got it for $2.50. I got this rustic wicker basket which I'm going to redo a little to freshen it up and maybe put it on my front porch. I got several other things which I didn't photograph. All in all I spent $27.00.

The moral of my little story is that just about the time I give up on garage sales I run across one like this one and I keep going back thinking it will happen again.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend. God bless you, Diane

One man's trash....
It's amazing the things you can find at garage sales, isn't it?

Getting there later is better than not going at all! Sometimes things are marked down at the end of the day too.

Ahhhh, garage sales. I have always loved them but now I have to have one myself to sell all those treasures I found over the years. Since being in a condo now there is no more room.
I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
