Pinecones and Roses

For two or three years I've had this pot full of hen and chickens and, as you can see, it's crammed tight. Now for some unknown reason we have a guest. I have no idea how this perky little tulip got there but it seems to feel completely delighted with itself for being there. Wouldn't it be wonderful if you could capture that attitude and sell it. I would be the first in line to buy some.
I think we're going to have lilacs for Memorial Day for the first time in several years. My grandma always put lilacs and peonies on the graves that she decorated. She called it Decoration Day. This year she will get lilacs on her grave and I know she would have been very happy.
We're still dry, rain is predicted for the next two days and the creek is still coming up. But, as one of my blogging friends commented, everything is growing like crazy!!!
I hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and that you have plenty of lilacs in your part of the world, too.
God bless you, Diane
