A Surprise Every Day

We saw the muskrat again today as we walked along the creek near our home. I feel so blessed to live so near a creek and near the edge of town. There's always something to see, deer, ducks, mink, rabbits, wild turkeys and the occasional prairie dog who has lost his way. We open our eyes, we see things, it's amazing. I'm amazed that we even see the muskrat. They are usually quite elusive but we've seen it three times now.

Before I had my camera I saw a Great Blue Heron on the creek twice. It was breathtaking.

I think there is a nest near. This drake sits and dozes on the sandbar guarding his hen somewhere in the bushes above the creek. I've seen him there several times. He seems to be sleeping but my presence alerts him. Nature is so wonderful.
Until next time,
God bless you,
Diane

Indeed there is so much to see if we only take the time to look. :c)
